There are many secrets and varities in british pennies there are 6 variation in 1908 excluding there combination, does other now that and there are still other variation in other date in this series of coin.but they are not listed in world catalog. If collector know that they exist they will going to add it to there collection?

Depends on what kind of "variety" we're talking about. Krause doesn't list any, as you say, nor does my old and venersable copy of Spink (1980). If they're slight differences or minor errors eg. die cracks, then personally I'll leave them for the variety hunters.

On the other hand, if someone gave me a bagful of British pennies to do with as I wished, I'd probably want to check them up and see if there were any varieties or variations to look out for.

Thank you sap,I just know now that in 1908 that the colon is becoming more central, in stages that the colon became central but started wide like 1907, but it is a varity,nothing more than that.the final sample is the colon is central for 1908.

yes ref. world coin catalog.1922 w/ reverse of 1927 specimen 2mintage

1933 only classic british rarity,coins put on pillar for new building in 1933

1952 and 1954

1882 no h below the date
1863 die no below date , I dont know what that means

I have all the English pennies from 1888 on, and now this thread makes me think I had better get out my album and check for varieties.

Just receive my CCGB 2006 and 2007 books have variety and price on it, I think I have some coins in the list that I bought in carbooth,

If anyone interested can search where I bougth it just type PREDECIMAL most of the time it will come out in first page result.

Like to post the site but almost same thing as this site but they specialized in british coin.
