Yesterday was a reasonable hunt at a new (to us) elementary school.
Good coin to trash ratio.

today however was great. Found a school that has only been open 4 years. looks like it has not made it onto the local hunting circuit yet.

May I ask how you get permission to hunt schools ? I'd love to find stuff like that just for the practice...searching for civil war bullets in the woods gets a little tedious

Schools are fair game in most states. For the most part permission is not needed. It never hurts to go to the local cop shop and explain what you are doing. Also when I see a locked school I try to see the Principle and get permission to hunt. You might be surprised to know that a lot of schools are part of the spark system i.e they double as parks when not in session.

I hit the schools, too. Unless they are locked up. Public schools that is. I'm a hard working tax paying citizen. I'm even bold enough to hunt and dig in front of the Police Station! They are public servants!

Go get yours today...get swinging!

That's true Hoosier...I'll probably wait till after hours...I can understand how parents might get nervous about strangers hanging around the school so I will give em that even if it's not a law.
