Hi, I have a number of old notes, most of which I've been able to identify, but these ones have eluded my detective skills up til now. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

You have some very nice notes, charlieboy747. Unfortunately, I don't know much about them. I've seen a couple of them before, but I can't even begin to guess on the value and history.

to the forum! I can personally guarantee that you will have a great time here.

Thanks Manuel. When I get these identified I'll scan some other nice ones I have to share with the other members.

The first note is from France. 1916 1 Franc. Valued at $10-30

I can't find anything on the small red french note.

The small brown note is from Austria. 1860 10 Kreuzer. Listed at about $15-25.

On page 3. The Argentinian note is 1884 5 Centavos. Krause has it listed at about $1 in good and $4 in fine.

The second note from Argentina is also from 1884. 10 Centavos. Listed at $1 good, $4 fine, $9 XF.

The 50 Cent notes I presume are from Italy but I can't find anything about them. (Or figure out a date)

Just because the catalog value seems kind of low for some of the notes doesn't detract from the beauty or historical value of them in my view (it just means the government couldn't handle their inflation!). I think they all look great and are a good collection!

Hope that helps a little bit!

Thanks heaps opal. They were all my great grandparents collection from their "great tour". Unlike their descendants they were people of considerable substance!
