My step son recently gave me a box of world coins.(Approx. 200)I am not that interested in them, but took them anyway. They are in 2x2`s for now.(Not really into world coins.)My dilema is,during one of my boring times I plan on going through them. Most are from the 50`s & 60`s.A few 30`s & 4o`s. and one medal from 1914-1918.The coins are not in that great a shape, since they were stored in an old tin cigarette box.
Aside from silver and errors what would you look for.(I don`t have a book on world coinsÉ)
Is this the part of coin collecting that is called THE DARK SIDE.

What is wrong with my question mark tab(ÉÉéé)is all I get!

You've reached your question quota and are now only allowed to make statements.

As to your world coin dilemma, would you be able to provide a scan of some of the coins? Perhaps some of the members can give you an idea of how common or rare they are. It might be worth borrowing a Krause for a weekend just to see what you've got.

Yes, for you, the darkside would be anything NOT Canadian. For me Canadian coins are on the darkside.

Besides silver, errors and varieties, I can't think of anything else to look for. There are plenty of people on this forum that would love to help you with your "dilemma".
