Hello,

I am having some difficulty determining the identification of this coin.

Please indicate the year and what this coin is celebrating.

If you have any idea of what it is worth, that too would be helpful info.

thanks,
mdpmedia

It is not a coin, it is an undated masonic penny used for ceremonial purposes. RAM= Royal Arch Masons. The engraved "JR" initials at the center probably belonged to the original owner.

In the Royal Arch chapters, when a new member is "made", they are given one of these tokens on which they inscribe their "mark". See this thread for a similar "masonic penny" from a different chapter.

They're the sort of thing that typically end up in "junk-box" scratchtrays. There probably aren't too many people that actively collect them.
