Any ideas what this is? Is it even a coin? It's so small, I would think it would get lost pretty easily.

Yes, yes, and probably, thought he people of Travancore had a long history of issuing tiny coins, so people had probably gotten used to taking care not to lose them. It's a 1 cash from the Indian state of Travancore, issued in the early 1900s. Example on WorldCoinGallery.

Thanks! I just found it in Krause. I was never aware of all the variety from the different Indian states.
