A Napoleon III Empereur I just wanted to share. I don't think it holds much value but it's one of my favorite coins.

I know exactly what you mean. Maybe not worth much in dollars and cents, but a real neat coin.

Somewhere I have something similar, but haven't seen it for years.

Anyway, I really like the coin.

Thingee,
I have this same coin, only mine is marked "B' instead of "A".Certainly not in as good of condition as yours is,but if you will search the world coins forum, where I have posted about it,Sap has some interesting info regarding this.
:) sn31.

I have an 1855D mint mark coin but not in as good condition as yours. Pretty good for a coin over 150 years old.

The "A" is for the Paris mint, while "D is for Lyon mint.

Sn31, The "B" mintmark is for Rouen mint.

There was also a "BB", "K", "MA" and "W" mintmarks for the year of 1855.
