After the discussion on the wavy 2, I thought it might be interesting to illustrate the two different dies for the 2007 20c piece. The vertical stroke on the '7' is wider and shorter on one coin and narrower and longer on the other. Not sure if this has been discussed before. I have talked about these with a dealer who seems to think that the thick variety is the scarcer. Any other opinions?

Fat and Thin 7 variety. I had no difficulty in getting 20 BU of each variety when they were first identified. The scarcity may be due to where the coins were released, but I had no difficulty in obtaining uncirculated rolls of each in Canberra from the National Bank.

BTW. Those are the best photographs of the variety that I have seen. Well done.

Thanks for that. I guess both are relatively easy to obtain. Anyone noticed which one was in the mint set - or whether both were available that way?
