lolz rustyboy, no worries, I don't think I can ask you to drive at midnight to a stranger's house.
Anyways, I suppose I'll give it another week. I figured if it was shipped out on Feb 25, it really should have been here by now. Strangely I've always had the best service with USPS.
An email back would have been nice at least. oh well.. here's hoping.

Mini update:
Well I think its fair to say that my money is gone. It's been 35 BUSINESS days with no order showing up in my mailbox, and its been 18 days with no contact from the seller.
his "website" is still up, does anyone know how one can complain to get it taken down? I'd hate for someone else to lose 10x more than I did by buying a gold coin from this guy.

Wow vinny, That is too bad. I'm not sure how to get this guy's taken down, but I wonder if we have a list of CCF member selling sites so we can shop with trusted sellers?

Quote:Anyways here's the website to warn others: http://bradleyhicks.com/ Seems like a lot of work to scam someone out of a few hundred dollars. Maybe others have bought gold coins from them.. who knows. Maybe it's just me but I really don't trust a web site where there is no info on location of seller. No phone number, address, email info on the front page. I tried the contact us thing and it didn't work. Scarry to want to order from them. As to the USPS, you never know. Remember all those stories about postal workers taking letters and packages home and just storing them so they wouldn't have to walk. Some have just dumped piles in the trash. Letters and packages get smashed during the processing and they just don't tell people. Once I sent a Christmas Card to a neighbor and it took Months to get there. We both laughed about it since the post mark was for a different state. I used to use a mail order film processing place for photography. I sent them so much that I lost track sometimes of what was sent. One time I got some pictures from them that were of a friends birthday party that had taken place 6 Months ago. Ever hear about the letters sent from soldiers in WW2 that just arrived lately? I suggest you try contacting them a few more times and then just write it off as a really poor choice of dealers. One more reason there should be a Forum here for trustworthy, honest, members that are coin dealers.

Have you tried calling? Maybe there is something wrong with his email and he's not receiving any whatsoever? Or for whatever reason your mails are ending up in his spam box and he's never seeing them? These explanations might sound hokey, but I've had both happen recently to me or to friends in recent months.
If you do continue to have an issue, try contacting the local BBB where the store is based. I've never had to deal with them, but other folks have found them helpful.
You can't simply have someones website shut down because an order went bad, any more than you have have a physical store closed. About the best you can do is sue for non-performance (I think, but I'm not a lawyer), but even for that, you'd need to be able to prove you paid. Putting an MO in the mail I'm sure doesn't suffice.

https://postalinspectors.uspis.gov/...mplaint.aspxHere you go, give this a try! if I understand it right....... if you use the USPS to conduct "Fraud", this is a Federal offence and they will at least investigate. Not sure if there is gonna be a problem because it is going to "The Great White North". I wish this guy was in Colorado, I'd go after him for ya!

Sorry to hear Vinny. I've been following this thread and was hoping it would turn out in your favor. Hopefully there's still a way to come out ahead.

Vinny... Sorry to hear of the problems that you are having with this fellow. It harms the whole coin collector community when people behave like this and try to take advantage of others for their own gain. If you get no satisfaction via other means, it is sometimes possible to get your Internet ISP to contact the miscreant's ISP and tell them that fraud against their customers is not acceptable. In a lot of cases, things can be worked out to the satisfaction of all parties... except the rip off artist, of course. If his ISP requests a full refund for you OR they shut this guy's Internet access down, you might just get your money back. I suppose that he could always have an ISP that won't cooperate but many of them do. They know that such tactics are bad for their business too. I don't know a thing about Canadian customs but is it possible to check with them to see if they are holding a package for you from this guy? If you can get an affirmative answer to that question, it would ease your mind a bit. Good luck with it, man.

vinnycoin I had a coin take 29 days once within the US. I was worried and had already complained to the seller. He gave me a full refund a week before I received it. I told him what happen and sent him the money back for the coin. You mailed him a money order? That address a real address or P.O. Box? You could call the local chamber of commerce about how to proceed with this problem. Even so that he does not have a business for say he is still in the jurisdiction of the Attorney General of that state. I got ripped off for $700.00 dollars once. I never got my money back, but they did go after the guy. I agree with an earlier post, this is bad for everyone. Scams and counterfeiting are terrible in the collecting world.

I don't know how much this helps you at this point, but a whois search of his domain turns up this: http://who.godaddy.com/whois.aspx?d...g_id=GoDaddyQuote:Registrant: Bradley Hicks PO Box 236 Woodstock, Georgia 30188 United States Registered through: GoDaddy.com, Inc. ( http://www.godaddy.com)Domain Name: BRADLEYHICKS.COM Created on: 15-Oct-01 Expires on: 15-Oct-11 Last Updated on: 16-Oct-10 Administrative Contact: Hicks, Bradley bradleyhicks@hotmail.com PO BOX 236 Woodstock, Georgia 30188 United States 678-524-9569 At this point I am going to guess that things are just being held up at customs. The domain has been registered for 10 years making it unlikely that he was taking people for a ride the entire time. I know it stinks, but I'd give it another two weeks.
