Hey folks!
Just thought I'd raise a little idea here... Who would be up for a "secret Santa" thing this year? For those who do not know, it is basically a thing where a group of people all draw random names amongst themselves, and on a selected date, they bring a gift for the person whos name they drew. Nobody (should) know who their "santa" is until they receive their present. I am writing this with much notice for 2 reasons:

-To get feedback from all interested to put forth their ideas (which may be better than mine)

-I would like to put a 50 post (or something like that anyway) minimum on this for all participating. I am not trying to be disclusive in any way, just that all those who wish to enter should at least know each other, and by doing so(I mean to say this in the nicest way possible) eliminate all prospect of cheaters (people who want a free gift without sending something in return) I decided to tell you all now so all interested have 2 months to get their posts. I think that if I get enough posts against this rule, we should be able to delete it.

If there is enough interest this should fly. All eager to participate send me (or susan, I guess she should be in on this as she is the forum "mom"!) your names, your address, (please note this will not be shown to anyone except me, susan, and the person sending you their gift)and 3 things you want from santa this year, or a list of your hobbies etc (please note, These should be in the 15-20 dollar range). Either Susan or I will "scramble" up the list, and then will send your info "off to santa". Anyone who does not celebrate Christmas or any other holiday this season, feel welcome to participate. (After all this is all about pesentspresentspresents!, is'nt it?)

This is just a rough idea and of course, nothing is "etched in stone", so to speak. Just post your ideas and email in your names. I hope we can make this work.

Andrew

This idea was canvassed a short time ago wasn't it. There was definite interest. I'd be interested.

Andrew, here is the original thread started by KidCollector:
Secret Santa

I need to call Rggoodie and see how his schedule looks. I know he's supposed to be taking a holiday soon. Unfortunately, this is a very busy time for our business also. I'll try to call him tomorrow if possible.
Rest in Peace

We did this at school when I was a teacher, and it worked out well.

If we do it, I would participate.

I am keeping a list from both threads

I will post the list in the next few days for those that have not posted who want to hgave their names added to the list.

Once the names are on the list.
I will contact each member via email and ask for their postal address.
I will fordward that address via email to the person who is their secret santa.

Please note the secret santa program is not a religious program and all are invited to join in.

I will send each assignment out in late November or early December.

any questions please post here or just email me.
