How about adding a rule that you must combine coins into a single thread? Maybe limit people only 2 active threads?
I see many members making separate threads for every coin they are selling. This is getting out of hand lately where one or two people completely dominate the forum FS section. Are we going to be OK with this when one member comes in and creates 50 different threads for 50 different coins?
It's not fair to the other people selling IMO.

I obviously can't sell yet, but I've been checking out coins for sale. It's quite annoying to have to click on them one by one if someone has listed 50 seperate ones.

I agree, I would suggest a limit to the number of active posts in the BST, section, as well as a limited number of auctions. I don't want to see it taken over... and therefore taken away...by a few sellers that just want to post everything they have for sale, and use it like a personal no pay ebay. It would also force people to tell the mods to remove their posts... (or even auto archive them after say... 15 days no activity, if that is possible?)

The auction section is going to incorporate BINs and the sell section will then go away completely. Until then, there will be no changes.

What's a BIN? I don't see it in the Glossary - too many acronyms!

I think I had 3 going at one time, I really didn't think of it that way. My apology for causing any grief and/or frustration. I love CCF, it's an amazing site, and all pales in comparison to it. Sorry...

Three isn't bad, especially if they are broken up into groups like Franklins, Washingtons, Walkers, etc.
But, if you list 15 different Lincolns in 15 different threads, well...
Not only doesn't it pain the potential buyer from skipping around and having to post several PM's, but it could cost the seller, too.

I agree completely Scoob. And I'm really glad to see BadThad bring the topic up. I never even traded a coin up until about a month and a half ago, so I'm really new at this aspect(buying or selling) of the hobby. I just want to be respectful to this site that does so much for the hobby...

Quote: The auction section is going to incorporate BINs and the sell section will then go away completely. Until then, there will be no changes If that happens, then the problem will be exponentially worse. Instead of being able to list 30 items in a single thread, there will be 30 threads.

True, but in my opinion, it is way easier to browse the auction area than it is the WTS forum.

Quote: If that happens, There's no if. It's going to happen. You'll be able to list in BIN or auction format just like ebay except there will be no fees. If that's not good enough maybe you'll have to find another option. The auctions run almost flawlessly now on the new system. The Staff has to do almost nothing. It runs itself very nicely. The sell section requires constant attention from the Staff and that will stop when the integration is done so we can focus on more important things.

I agree with BadThad. The BIN addition to the auction section will only make this issue more prevalent. I have enjoyed the BST section and have used it several times, every transaction going without a hitch. I have enjoyed the rest of the site as well since coming across it. Since this is a "Community" forum, can we vote to keep the Buy and Sell section?

Maintaining the BST section is a lot of man hours for a free site is what it comes down to... While I like the section, I am positive it will go now. I feel that if you had a BIN section that was organized by age/denomination/bullion it would work well. We Auctions used to be run in the BST section before we had an actual auction program on the site, and that transition worked well. I am willing to give it a shot.
