At today's melt value ($43.04 Troy oz): 10 x pre 1966 Quarters = $64.56 7 x 1967 - 1968 Quarters = $28.23 16 x pre 1966 dimes = $41.25 4 x 1967 - 1968 dimes = $6.46 Total $140.50 current melt value. Not a bad days work. Did you manage any other finds from the boxes? Were any of the coins key/semi key dates? Any of the coins worth keeping in your collection?

Quote: Box of dimes last night Hey cladhunter13, A few questions if you don't mind. I usually ask for 20-40 rolls of dimes whenever I pick some up, so I never get boxes. When you get boxes, are they sealed? Also, what color are the rolls you typically get in boxes? I'm asking because I gave up on boxes since they always seem to contain white "shotgun" rolls which have been "processed" and only contain dimes dated 2001-2011. The boxes you're getting have obviously not been "processed", so I'm curious to know what they look like, and also which bank (BMO, RBC, etc..) you're getting them from if you dont mind sharing

The boxes you're getting have obviously not been "processed", so I'm curious to know what they look like, and also which bank (BMO, RBC, etc..) you're getting them from if you dont mind sharing I ask at the teller to buy a box of whatever denomination that I'm looking to search at that time. For me...95% of the time they are Customer Wrapped Rolls. I only have a account with Scotia but I also pick up coins from BMO, CIBC & TD. I have not went in to the RB yet for boxes. Most of the tellers in my area know me and my markings I put on the box when I return them to the bank. I also let them know what I'm doing with the coins and that if all they have is the white Distribution Center rolls I will pass. I have still had luck with the white rolls of cents but anything else is no good if looking for silver or older nickels. I just picked up a box of dimes and nickels today from BMO. So far pulled a 46, 48 and a few nice 60's. There are 12 rolls of solid date nickels (CWR) from 81 - 66. Great if I was a nickel hoarder which I'm not. I have not started the dimes yet but will get to them later tonight. So far I have managed to pull 28 x silver dimes and 7 x silver quarters since I have started searching dimes/quarters. If I remember correctly I have searched 4 boxes of quarters and 12 boxes of dimes.

Got a 64 and 68 dime in a roll at work today. Friday I pulled 23 1967 dimes from the tills at work. 21 were in one roll that I opened and the other 2 were loose in other tills. I always wonder when I find one, how many I missed while another cashier was on the till.

Box of dimes last night ($250.00) yielded 1 x 1960 Silver. I'll take it. Off of the dimes and nickels for the next week or so. Budget has me down to searching boxes of cents till then. The silver urge will have to hold a bit. If it ever quits snowing and warms up I will get out and swing the coil and try to dig a few silvers.
