While going through the box of 2010 pennies, I know, you are probably get sick of the box of 2010 pennies, but are these pics of a hanging 1 and hanging 0?

Hi Uncle AL,
looks like a die crack. I suppose you could call it hanging...however the hanging digits from the 50's and 60's were from a die clash...so the method is a little different.

Maybe these 2010's will become a variety, sure nice to have a few around in that case.

Cheers

Thanks for the help, TwoCentsWorth. I found 28 of the zero coins that are exactly the same and 50 of the "1" coins that are also exactly the same.

Nice variety. I first found something similar in 1999, hanging 9. My first thought was wash for cleaning the dies.
It seems to come about around the beginning of the first plated coins.
Perhaps its a new process in mirror technology.

These were suppossed to be uncirculated, straight from the mint. Look at all the gouge marks on the top and bottom penny. The third penny has a silver dot near the upper left corner, not just a problem with coating. And of course, all the water marks. I just purchased a couple of rolls of 2011 pennies, I am going to break into one of the rolls later this week, will let everyone know what I find. Hopefully, these will be in better shape.
