Just picked several of them at a coin show last Sunday. One hard cover for my Red Book collection and a few ringed ones for around the house. Really dissapointed in this years version. If I didn't collect them, not sure if it's worth buying one. At a fast glance very little changed form the 2011 or even the 2010 editions. I thought for sure they would tryh to make each version more desirable but since they get so much publicity, just not worth making lots of changes.
One interesting thing is lots of prices are now lower. I suspect the excessive comments about their over inflated prices got back to them and they are trying to correct little at a time.
Over the years I've been able to get them from the same dealer at the same coin shows for $10 each, hard and soft covers. That too was a little annoying since he told me he had to raise his prices finally. All were now $11 each. Something about Whitman charging more for bulk quantities.
If you have a 2011 and a 2012, try some comparing.

I have not yet purchased one yet for the exact reason your stating. I was afraid there wouldn't be much changes from last year. Now with silver prices goign the way they are my Red Book will say a common dime is worth $3 and the price of silver will make it obsolete.
