I was looking through the ads that came in the mail the other day and noticed a bargain outlet in my area has a coin book! I was shocked they would advertise it but whatever. It is the 2010 Standard catalog of world coins. The book comes with a CD as well for your computer (might not be compatible with my mac) and is said to have information on all the coins minted in the world from 1901-2000. I think the book also has information about composition of the coins. The book is only $9.99 which seems like a reasonable price. Does anyone have this book, or know any information about it. I was hoping to use it to sort my world coins, and make notes on the flips about composition, country ect. I was hoping it might also help me get an understanding of stuff to look for in peoples cheap foreign boxes at coin shows. Not sure if I can post what store it is, but if I am allowed I will follow up with the name. Any help is always greatly appreciated. bye bye

Grab that book. Now. You will be getting at least a 75% discount over retail price if it is in new condition with the CD. It's THE essential reference. Also ownership of that one is guaranteed to make you want the other editions covering previous centuries!

Check ebay. You could probably sell the extra for a profit or save it to sell here I'm sure someone would want a copy.

got my copy today!! very cool book, and for only 10.88 after taxes They had about 15 left stacked up on the shelf and maybe more floating around I might go back and grab a few more, I might even use them for trade bait when I get to 250 posts the book seems really really cool, lots of pictures, compositions are named, prices (idea of what keys to look for) and a wealth of information about each country listed before the start of its coins gonna look up a handful of my coins in it now and look more into what I actually have here I'll post more about the CD after I start to use it and see if its compatible with the Mac system

Sometimes you can get them for dirt cheap. They get more expensive as they get into the old centuries.

It is probably compatible, it is a PDF file of the entire book. If you can read PDF files, you can use the CD.
