Specifies "design type" for certain coins. Examples:

USA, you can look up these terms in most online coin glossaries.

FB means Full Band. "Mercury Head Dimes that have fully defined bands on the faces. Only well struck coins will have these features".


PL is Proof Like - "A circulation strike that mimics the deeply reflective appearance of a Proof coin".


DM is Deep Mirrored - This term usually goes with DMPL, which is "a coin struck for circulation that has extremely reflective surfaces. You can see yourself in these impressive little beauties".

I like the PCGS glossary. Very detailed.
