Well I am in some hard times right now. The grocery business isn't going to well...less than 20 per week for the past several months now. I'm really afraid I might be falling behind. So I am trying to decide if I should sell some of my coins. They're really the only thing of value I have. If I were to sell my mint sets from 1999-2004, what would you consider a fair price to charge? I may decide to put these on ebay and I'd wanna get the most out of these as I could. David

Do you think I should sell them as bundled together or separate? Thanks for the greysheet prices.

nds76, If you are going to sell on ebay sell them seperately. An individual looking for a specific year is more than likely to spend whatever it may take to get that much needed set. Putting them together would be less work and less shipping for you but would hold your total down! If you must sell I would strongly advise against grouping anything other than junk coins on ebay. Hope things get better for you soon!

I agree. Lots on ebay tend to not see as good prices as the individual items would have.

Thanks for the tips. I was just browsing ebay and many of the 2004 mint sets don't even have bids and there are many prices at $29.99. If those don't sell, I can't see how people would pay $50 for my set if I choose to sell. David

If the 2004 sets are not selling well on ebay consider taking them to a dealer. Many are in desperate need for these sets and will pay full bid for them. The other years will more than likely do better on ebay.

Hi David, Sorry to hear that you may sell your sets due to hardship. Don't forget that many ebay items don't get 'real" bid action until near the auction close. Try a completed auctions search- just scanning, most of the 2004 mint sets went for upwards of $50. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...0250162&rd=14/21 completed auction range was 44 to 58, with most sellign in mid 50s. Here are some things to consider. This auction was for 1999-2004 uncirculated sets: Closed 1999-2004 Mint Set AuctionCompleted ASP's are: 1999 - mid-$30's 2000 - $17.00 2001 - mid-$20's 2002 - mid-$20's 2003 - high-$20's 2004 - $60.00 Either way, you are probably looking at $140-$155. Don't forget to factor in the fees if you decide to sell them on ebay. You may want to post them here on the forum instead. I think you could be sure of fair prices and there would be no fees attached. Just a thought.

So much to consider here. I could put some on here or I could put some on ebay as a reserve auction. I'm not sure what the fee runs on a reserve auction. I could get more selling individually but I could get one big lump sum all at once for all sets. I was looking at the 1999-2004 set link Susan and that ending price was almost a car payment for me! I really never thought I would ever consider selling these but if I'm not getting the hours at work it leaves very little choice. David

Here is the link for ebay fees. There is a link toward the bottom of the page to view the reserve fees. eBay Fees

David, I saw an ad in the local paper for the dealer at the Grayling Coin Shop. It stated he pays the highest prices in Northern MI. See what he has to offer before you go the ebay route.

I heard something about that too. But when I was there before he pretty much told me he mainly deals in old coins. In fact, old coins were all I seen in his cases.
