How many Lincoln cents in staple type holders can I mail out with only one first class stamp? Should I be worried that it wouldn't be received by the buyer? Thanks in advance,

If you are using a 44 cent stamp, the number would be zero- you are not allowed to ship rigid items at the standard 1st Class Rate due to the high speed sorting machines that like to dislodge coins from envelopes. For rigid(nonmachinable) envelopes, there is a 20 cent surcharge for a total 1oz rate of 64 cents. I ship the majority of my coins in self-sealing coin mailers and I can get three Lincolns in 2x2s in a standard size envelope at the 1oz nonmachinable rate. I have shipped several hundred coins this way with zero losses.

I wonder how much it would cost if you use bubble mailers? Even the smallest mailer can fit a bunch of those. But I am guessing cheapest would be to keep it under 1oz. In that case maybe 3-4 coins?

Only guessing, never tried it.

Bubble mailers containing rigid objects such as coins are charged at the First Class Parcel rate which is now $1.71(yikes, it was raised from $1.22 on 4/17)

That's a big difference. I suppose what biokemist said is probably the cheapest method then.

I ship coins all the time and I have never had a problem. I try and use 1.5x1.5's. I can ship about 3 pennies this way for regular postage. What I do is staple on the ebay invoice then fold paper to mask the coins before trying to seal the envelope.
Rest in Peace

You can make your own mailers by asking the beer/pop man to give you the old one-side corrugated they use for displays, and cutting it to fit envelopes.

I too have used regular envelopes for sending 2x2's out. I use tape on the 2x2's instead of staples and sandwich them inbetween two small peices of cardboard so not easily detectable for theft reasons.
I never thought of using the 1-1/2 x 1-1/2 sizes though. Good idea to be able to put more in a standard envelope.
Never had a problem yet though.
