1894 Large Cent Markings

I recently acquired this 1894 large cent and the surfaces have almost a shiny look to them with a lot small pit marks. It almost looks like a pebbled. Does anyone have any idea what would cause this and what kind of grade would come from this. It is a shame as other than that it is a nice coin that I think would be VF

I've seen this type of pitting before.( PMD)Too bad it would otherwise be a nice coin.
As far as grading,I can't help you there.I can't grade a coin even if you paid me.
Someone else will probably help you here.
