Wondering if I have a top-grade DDO here?

This coin is being currently discussed in the TPG Forum as I am submitting it as a cross-over attempt to PCGS. You can view that thread here:

Sooo ... looking at my digital photos of Jefferson obverse I notice what appears to be significant doubling around the entire obverse portrait.

Enlarged photo of the obverse for you ... note that something is going on around the entirety of Jefferson profile ...

1942-P-Jefferson-Type-II-...-DDO?

My CherryPickers Guide 5th Edition on Page 308 lists two 1942-P Type II Jefferson DDO ... but none with the doubling around the entire obverse profile.

Here is the entire coin as shown in the referenced thread ...

1942-P-Jefferson-Type-II-...-DDO?

Sooooo ... wondering if this is a known DDO ... or just my imagination?

BTW ... this coin is graded NGC MS67FS ... so perhaps the fine level of preservation is showing things not previously seen? Or most likely I am imagining things.

Appreciate any and all comments ... is this a DDO?

David

Its a beautiful coin regardless a DDO or not. I think you need to get closer pics for anyone to make an assumption.

Hey guys, I have one of these coins as well in a not very good condition (1942 p type 2). It is darkened a lot from wear but still has good detail as all the words are readable. Some scratches. Is it worth anything? First post so bear with me.
