Don't get anyone in trouble but, Has anyone had a Metal Recycler take your copper pennies? And pay you as it was copper scrap?

I shopped around but never sold any. I have a few hundred pounds of copper cents. The best price I could find from a scrapper was actually about 2/3 of face value. I, obviously didn't sell. I posted some of the rolls on ebay and kijiji and got anywhere from $4 - $15 roll. Much better than a scrapper's offer.

I love how people PLAN to end our hobby. Hoarding pennies and nickels in anticipation to melt them down. You think Indian Heads are hard to get in circulation now. They will be non-existent then, and the copper penny will take it's place. I can see future collections containing nothing but zinc! And don't even get me started on silver.

No shortage of copper cents here in SE MI. I'm actually seeing more copper than ever. Solid rolls of copper cents from customer wrapped rolls is getting more common.

I would estimate here in NH, although I haven't counted anything, that when I roll search I find 40% copper and 60% zinc.
