Funny you should post this now. I just finished going through a $100 box of nickels and I also found a 1899 "V" Nickel. It was just sitting on the top of the roll so I could plainly see it. I also found one silver and a buffalo in the same box. I'll post later with pics.

I've never found a Buffalo nickel in a roll or in circulation, let alone a Liberty nickel. Some folks have all the luck.

But I did get an 1895 Indian Head cent in my spare change last September at McDonalds. It's not in very good shape.
