On the reverse it says 1863. I think this is a 100 year Centennial Medal (made in 1963), but really am not sure. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Where in the world did you get that?! I like it! I only collect American medals so there's not much I can tell you other than that's Saints Cyril and Methodius on one side and the Roman Catholic Church of Saints Cyril and Methodius on the other. It is located in the Karlin district of Prague, Czech Republic and was consecrated on October 18th, 1863. As for whether the medal was made in 1863 or 1963 I have no idea...or who made it for that matter. Good luck finding more info on it!

Hmm, I could only echo what crownman wrote. ;) He is right about the place and the date on the medal. But whether it was issued in 1863 or 100 years later, I don't know either. You could try and contact the church though, see https://www.farnost-karlin.cz The website is in Czech, but maybe the recipient speaks English, and can tell you something about the piece ...

I live close to a Czech community in the U.S. and it was probably acquired there. It is an inherited item, and I don't know much info about it. It could have been obtained from the Czech Republic and brought back here, I'm not sure. Thanks for the information, the photo of the Church, and the website! I'll try to do some more investigating.
