my girlfriends ancestry is polish and she sees me playing with my coins all the time and and said she wanted one from polland. Any suggestions? I want to get her an investment caliber coin but also something recognizable to her grandmother. Any suggestions would be aPpreciated.

Oh yeah, preferably silver. Percentage isn't that important. Thanks y'all.

For Polish silver coins that are a good investment and can be nice to a grandmother I suggest:

20 zł Amber Route: http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=am...md=1&_ipg=50

20 zł JP2 Beatification: http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=Jo...0.m270.l1313

Another piece that I find interesting is one of the coins that Poland issued in 2008, to commemorate "400 Years of Polish Settlement in North America". The coins (one in gold, one in silver with a glass insert, one in base metal) came out one year after the US "Jamestown" issues, and could be relevant in a "Polish-American" sense.

This is the folder (PDF, about 500K) in English:

And here is an image (can be enlarged by clicking on the obverse or reverse) of the 10 zl "silver/glass" piece:

Indeed.
The fair price for the silver/glass "Settlement" 10zł is about $33.

A 1598 3 Groszy would be nice. Just the history, a coin from the reign of Sigismund III. Any coin from the 1500s would be pretty cool.
