Might have better luck in the foreign coin pages. These pages are for modern US coins. I imagine a moderator here can help by moving this post to it's proper section. You are more likely to have your question answered if it's in the section where people interested in foreign coins hang out.

Cheers

I checked my world coin catalog and this coin design was minted in Japan from 1968-1988
composition: copper-nickel
22.5 mm, 4.20 grams
I am not good at checking the dates but if yours is from 1978 then the mintage is 292,000,000
nothing too ordinary I don't think. The book says that varieties exist so if you like the coin look into it!
I love holding onto any of the foreign coins I come across.
If you are interested in foreign coins then I suggest getting the "standard catalog of world coins" I got the 2010 version at a bargain outlet in my area for 9.99 which was really cheap (the only reason I got it)
if you can find it at a good price it is a really cool book. It has all the coins minted in the world from 1901-2000 (thats the issue I have anyways)
cool coin
and you cant move the topic I don't think but a moderator will get it soon!

yes, posters can't change the posted forum, it's a moderator action. You can facilitate the process by clicking the "send a note to staff" link at lower are of post to ask them to move it.

Chris, are you talking of a KRAUSE? The serious 700+ page ones? If so, I would consider it a favor if we could hook up something for me to get one of those at that price. {plus some for you and shipping, of course}. To say $10 for one of those is cheap is an understatement

I'll even see an old 2005 version krause still going for $30-40. Sickening but still worth it.

this is the link from when I was debating if the book was a good deal
https://goccf.com/t/86545
I also asked people if I should buy some extras to distribute on here and no one really messaged me or anything to tell me to get them. I didn't want to get stuck with a stack of books when I only needed one. Sorry I quickly found out it was a steal, but I was too afraid to get them. Plus I didn't have enough posts to sell at that time. Maybe next time I see something like this I will take the chance. Plus shipping would've been real high on a 20 pound book lol.
