Just finished. All the quarters are now in an album. Complete set from 1932 - 2006. With proofs from 1950 forward. Each coin was wrapped in onion skin paper and sealed in a glassine envelope. I found no damage at all from being in storage all these years. I believe they held up better than the mint and proof sets I've been buying since 1986.

Used standard 3 ring binders. Except the rings are not circular, one side has been straightened so the pages lie flat on top of each other instead of bulging out in the middle. Standard 20 pocket vinyl pages. Each coin is in an acid free 2x2 self sealing coin holder.

Josie, please don't go and wrap any of your coins in real onion skins. I don't know if they even make onion skin paper anymore. It was used many years ago to make multiple carbon copies of letters or corespondence.

Onion skin paper may no longer be available to store coins. Air Tite makes a sealed storage holder that works really good. The coins are easy to view and the holders provide long time storage.

Jim, I have very little knowledge of what's going on around here. Kinda stuck in the house until Jan. because of kidney transplant. Don't have any immune system because of the drugs to keep me from rejecting it. Get to go to the hospital twice a week and thats it.

stmpcol, I'm very interested, you say "acid free 2x2 self sealing coin holders." I have a lot of miscellaneous coins also stored in the 20 pocket pages, but I used the safe mylar flips. I got some negative feedback from the forum that mylar flips are best suited for temporary storage only, so what you described is probably the answer for me. Please post a link for an online supply dealer if you can. Best wishes for a speedy recovery regarding your health concerns. TS

TS here's a link https://www.brooklyngallery.com they have lots of coin & stamp supplies. And reasonable too.

Jim, no misunderstanding. People is what they don't want me to be around. This I don't understand, twice a week I go to this big white building and what is it, nothing but a giant germ factory. Thanks both for the best wishes.

stmpcol, Hope you get better soon, and can return to society rather than being cooped up at home.

This is a touch off topic, but I went to my safety deposit box recently, and opened a roll of coins I had stored 30 years ago. I had them stored in Meghrig (I think that's the spelling) plastic coin tubes.

The good news is the coins I needed looked fine. None the worse for all those years of storage.

The bad news was regarding my Canadian silver dollars which I also decided to open. Evidentally, somehow the plastic seemed to shrink a little bit, and I actually had to cut and peel the plastic to get the coins out.

Thanks again stmpcol, heard before that coins in roll of paper is better than plastic but depending on paper you use if it is recycled or not or with other substances presence.

Take care and God bleess..

stmpcol, I checked out Brooklyn Galleries (my hometown BTW), and found the safe 2x2 self adhesive holders. Seemed a bit pricey, Google brought me to TradeWinds coin suppy site. VERY nice website. They had the same merchandise, better price. I also picked up 2 Dansco albums. The State Quarter P&D (for my daughter), and the US Type Coin album for me. I always wanted to start a type collection. I've got plenty to keep me busy (and broke) for a while. Thanks for the guidance. TS
