Last year was a bad detecting year for me. I couldn't get out very much due to work, but this year I'm trying to get out as often as possible.
So far, I've been out four times. The first three hunts yielded only a few recent coins and a crappy medallion. The fourth hunt was a short one but I scored three keepers. 1910 and 1911 five cent silvers (fishscales) and a 1932 Canada cent.
They came out of a park that I've hunted for a couple of years now and all these finds were deep..... all around 8" down.
I use a White's DFX with a standard 9" coil and I'm so pleased with the results. Finding a fishscale deeper than 6" can be a real challenge. All I heard was a quick chirp but the reading repeated in the high 80's. Always a indication of a good target.
I just love this machine!
(I'll post pics later. I'm using the work computer right now.)
