I am new to coin collecting. I was looking through some spare change and found a 1974 Urraca Republica De Panama Un Centesimo. I don't know anything about it or even what it's worth. Any information would be helpful.
It is a 1 centesimo from Panama. "Urraca" is the name of the fellow on the obverse; he was a native American tribal chief who led the resistance against the Spanish invasion of Panama.
The Panamanian currency unit, the balboa, was on par with the US dollar at the time your coin was struck, so it is the equivalent of a US cent. You'd probably pay only a few cents for one in typical condition from a coin dealer. As you have discovered, they still sometimes turn up in change in the US.
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis
