dman, I'm afraid it adds no additional value as these may be the most common silver half.

ooooo you guys got in trouble someone might pay a premium, but since these coins go at silver melt in most cases I would say they are probably worth that an ebay listing might bring more because people like to buy stuff like that on there ya never know, if they were passed down to you though, why not save them? Family heir loom. also welcome to the community

It might have brought a small premium a few years ago but the massive run-up in silver would have now erased any premium like it has done to so many other coins.

Hey dMAN hope this helps. These coins(as long as the roll has never been opened) have hypothetical value. Depending on when they were rolled, the have a possibility for having other coins in them. If its just a bank roll that was rolled within a couple years, it may be worth face value, but if you say your grandmother pulled them out, I figure that they must have some age. Might be worth trying to sell on ebay.

Sealed, original rolls of BU 1964 Kens would have a slight premium in value. Don't open the rolls!

Don't open them. If you decide to sell them, I believe you would get more for the entire roll unopened.

I read your post as saying someone's Grandma picked these up brand new rolled from the bank presumably in 64' or 65'. In that case, I would not open them. Check ebay's completed listings. If I recall, they carry a small premium like eveyone has said. Have you considered keeping them and passing them on to the next generation? You will likely get $300 on ebay minus 12% fees. However, 30+ years from now when that $264 is long gone, you may be kicking yourself that you did not keep them.

Sorry, It was around 4 this morning and the coffee just hadnt kicked in yet. It was my grandmother. They arent yet mine. I have numerous other coins from my grandfather as well, and I couldnt bare the thought of selling any of them. They will all be passed down to my boys. I also discovered a BUNCH more silver of his. Loose walking Libs, Mercs, Franklins, Roosies,Washington Quarters and some other stuff I'm gonna need help identifying. Good old grandpa........
