Was visiting our local coin shop where I live on a Saturday with my wife. After looking and talking with the owner, my wife tugs on my shirt and whispers in my ear "Come over here for a minute". Walked over to the "Paper" currency section of his store and she points to this:  My wife was born in Washtenaw county and we still own a farm and two homes there. Where this bank was located at was roughly 1/2 mile from our farm. There is now a "Key" bank there. After researching this bill and the population of that area at the time it was printed (Before the Fed was created), there is a better than 50/50 chance that her great or great great grandparents at one time had this bill on them. Needless to say it now resides in my safe....  |

Haven't gotten my wife to that point yet, she just no longer objects  Wonderful note and vignettes. |

That's awesome to have history on a bill like that. Have you considered perhaps writing it out and keeping it with the bill to have some record of it to pass down?

It is going to be matted with the statistics that I found, then placed in a nice frame to be hung on the wall in our bedroom.
