Here is the issue with these. NOT many collect $20's..Ergo the number of views has no bearing on it.
That being said... IF 05417507 I is the keeper in that lot. However it depends on condition as most that collect short runs go after chcu notes.
Collect what you like / want for your collection regardless of what others are doing / collecting.
Edit below
Collecting by short runs is a very limited / small universe of collectors due to the cost involved in such a venture especially for large denomination notes. my 2 cents.
Ceylon,
My apologies if my last post seemed as though I was taking the lack of responses personal. I really wasn't....I was just surprised/disappointed that nobody had weighed in, at that point.
I'm just starting out with currency collecting, so any and all advice, and opinions on things that I come across (from people who know a whole lot more than me) is very valuable to me.
So, with that said....
I see what you're saying. $20's (and higher) especially newer $20's, will have a very limited following due to the denomination, and, with my particular notes, them being a recent series.
I usually stick to the lower denominations, but sometimes I am able to save higher denom notes, if they come along at the right time, and these $20's of mine came along at the right time.
As far as collecting what I like vs. what other people are doing, that is precisely what I do. If I see something that catches my eye, and I like it, I save it. What somebody has to say about any note that I have, really has no bearing on my decision to keep it, or not.
However, that doesn't mean that I don't value input from other, more knowledgeable collectors.
To add to Nickelman's post regarding his collecting 1988A notes:
I'm doing something sort of similar with the new, 2009 notes. Being that I am from Boston, I am trying to collect chcu examples of all denoms of '09 notes issued for the Boston FRB. Ok, well, I guess it's not really similar, but it kind of is, seeing as most people would not even be remotely interested in them.
Thanks guys, for the input.
