Interesting Error On 2 Centimes 1836 Belgium

mikediamond Pillar of the Community United States 2738 Posts	Posted 06/04/2011 09:55 am It's an intentional overstrike. Many of these 1836 2 centimes were struck over older Netherlands 1 cent coins. It also looks like the either the Belgium dies clashed or you've got a case of progressive, indirect design transfer (a.k.a. "design transfer", "heavy design transfer", "internal metal displacement phenomenon"). It's a form of die wear. Error coin writer and researcher.
