I was at TD Bank today excahnging my searched nickels for a fresh box, and as usual the bag filled up. I always look in the half dollar bag as they are changing it to see if there are any silvers. Today, I saw for the first time at least 4-5 silver rims. They looked old and worn so I would guess they were walkers or franklins, maybe even barbers. (i would say Seated but that would make me feel worse)
so I asked the guy if I could buy them from the machine----he said no! It was painful and sad to see those coins be sent out for FACE VALUE!
AGRHHH!
Oh well. I HAVE to do something to forget about this.
But I hope my box of nickels has something good. I am planning on seeing if any of the banks have CWR of halves.

TD Bank used to be called TD Bank North, cause it was only up here in the northeast. But they are moving around so they took away the North. I think they are mainly on the east coast though. they have 6% coin counters in every(almost) branch
They are actually a very good bank in my opinion-at least my branch is. Always kind and helpful but I know from personal experience this does not "run in the business". I also know the other branch I go to has a few lazy people who "don't see the full coin bags they have to replace" and just stand there trying to look busy.
The perk is, they are open later than most banks. Even on sundays and saturdays

Yes I do just go in and ask, but one week I was hauling and they ran out...had to wait for the next shipment.

Only problem is...TD Bank doesn't have halves ANYWHERE. But I will ask them if I can order a box.

First I would have tried to bribe the guy... if that didn't work I would have asked to buy the whole bag, if that didn't work I would have talked to the manager and probably even said I am going to switch banks. (I have been with my bank for 10 years and they don't like losing long time customers)
