I'm not much of a photographer, and it's very hard to get a close up without having a shadow or a glare. This is the one I bought on ebay, with that silly "Looks Better!" (than the ngc grade) slogan. It's NGC slabbed as MS-62. It seems rather dull, with an ever so slight hint of toning up close. BTW, this is the coin that I apparently overpaid ($380) for.

It's a very nice 3 cent piece. I don't think you went wrong with it. I like it. Beats any of the 3 cent pieces I have.

Well thanks :) I didn't mean to sound so negative in my first post. It's just that I found out 1888 MS-64 3CNs were going for around what I paid. I'm still happy to have a high grade, low mint 3CN though.

Great acquisition! Anytime you get a high grade coin added to your collection, it is worth it. Coins this nice do not come along every day.

I like the 3CN coins alot better than the 3CS because the 3CS is just way to small for me. I just checked and the one I cracked out for my type set was a ms-67 3CN

Weak strike, dull luster, 64 money for a true 62 coin.......send it back and start looking for the right one. We all make mistakes, but you don't have to live with this one. JMHO.

Out of curiosity, were you in a bidding war with someone else?

Nope. It was a single price, "Buy it Now" thing. It wasn't an actual auction in the conventional sense. It was just for sale. I think I'm going to send him a message this weekend asking him if he's willing to waive at least some of the 10% restock fee to return it. Slim chance, but it doesn't hurt to ask.
