This is a great forum. In the past few weeks I have learned a lot and this

Twenty-Consecutive-Stars has rekindled my coin addiction. I especially appreciate the advice to "collect what you like" from some of the collectors here. There as so many directions to go in that this is good advice to remember. When I initially got the bug to collect coins it was the appreciation of the history of the coins. To actually hold a civil war era coin in my hands (by the edges of course) for the first time was awesome. When I was younger the fact that this hobby tends to increase in value was secondary to my sheer enjoyment. It is nice to see so many others that have the same enjoyment. Of course it is also nice to see my interest increase in value.

For enjoyment I have included a picture of my very nice $2 Star notes, twenty consecutive. These are among my favorite notes.

That is sweet. I have been getting into this crave to start with coins. But I really love the Notes that are out there. I been trying to get my history on them and how they look. Def will be trying to collect American Notes probably more than coins.

Wow, that's a nice stack of star notes. Did you buy these from a dealer, or acquire them from a bank in order to get the consecutive serials? I know my grandfather, when he was still alive, used to go to the bank and ask for $2 bills and they would give him consecutive stacks of $20 worth at a time. Then he would hand them out to us grand kids on special occasions. Was really neat and exciting when he brought those out. But then we didn't know any difference of course between the star notes etc.

to the Forum too!

BrokaToe, I forgot to add my reply...sorry I am still a newby!

The stars were a gift about twenty years ago. Initially I did not realize what stars were and was even more grateful when I became aware of their history. Thanks for the welcome

Nice find... not sure of the premium with banks still carrying them. I guess they don't shread too many $ 2.00 bills... Look at this site, pretty cool:

Here's two mint consecutives I picked up at the bank the other day. Picked up 9 old $ 100 bills too that were consecutive mint....
