The very, very small "coin shop" across the street has a 1982 LMC Lg Date with no copper plating.

It does not appear as thought the plating has been removed. It appears as though it was never plated. I cannot get a picture.

The zinc has no luster. It appears flat as has been circulated, but appears AU.

He wants $20 for it, but I think I can get it for $15.
Do you think I should buy it?

I did a search and it sounds like an unplated zincoln looks shiny and if it is dull it more than likely had a chemical bath to strip the copper. I saw where a dealer payed $30 for a shiny one.

If it does not have any luster(even in the areas protected from wear), then it is almost certainly altered.

I have an unplated 1994 LMC. Check This Thread to see what the "real deal" should look like.
