1982 Lincoln Memorial Cent / LMC Zinc - No Copper Plating

scurry64 Pillar of the Community United States 900 Posts	Posted 06/10/2011 3:04 pm The very, very small "coin shop" across the street has a 1982 LMC Lg Date with no copper plating. It does not appear as thought the plating has been removed. It appears as though it was never plated. I cannot get a picture. The zinc has no luster. It appears flat as has been circulated, but appears AU. He wants $20 for it, but I think I can get it for $15. Do you think I should buy it? Report this Post to the Staff

junior e Pillar of the Community United States 931 Posts	Posted 06/10/2011 3:29 pm I did a search and it sounds like an unplated zincoln looks shiny and if it is dull it more than likely had a chemical bath to strip the copper.
