So I got a batch of coins today from a well known US dealer. I a curious how close you think his grades are to what you think they are. Sorry for scans rather than photos but these are still in the holders.

This 1947 Curved 7 sold as AU50

This coin comes off as dipped - likely just the scan though. I think it's a 35-40.

The coin showing obverse definitely shows all of the classic signs of circulation wear. Therefore, it cannot be graded as Uncirculated. It does not make EF where only the high points show signs of light wear. I would think the next grade down, which is VF, would be the correct grade for this coin.

The coin showing reverse shows as Uncirculated, or nearly so. From the scan, it is difficult to see wear on the high points of the design.

I would like to see a close up of the "7" in the date.

I think it's just the scan as it has some light gold tones to it.. certainly not a recent dip anyway.

Thanks though...

The dealer works with PCGS as a world coin expert BTW

Sorry for the glare... have to get a scope that I can adjust the lighting on!

I like this coin by the way, it looks like a nice example to me with no real distractions and I bet those little scratches aren't bad in hand and only really show on the scan. It has that normally weakly struck upper left on the reverse but even the lines in the spear tips show really clear.

On these designs for me the attraction is the reverse, George is kind of boring. I like crowns on my monarchs :)
