Hey all,
Found this in a roll today, the mint mark really caught my eye because its sooo huge! Is this a normal thing? It looks as though it should be for a quarter or something larger. I can't seem to find anything about a larger mint mark being known on this year. Any help would be great!

Zach, looks like split plating. During the striking process the pressure can cause the plating to stretch out real thin and actually split it. The platting can even snap back sometimes causing it to leave a raised ridge that resembles a dbl MM. But in this case it looks as though it just left the zinc exposed.

It does look bold and raised a bit higher then normal. That being said, they"the mint mark" were punched by hand into the die until 1990 so it could have been punched too deep. I have seen many of them so I don't think they hold a premium.

That is a pretty wild mintmark. That would have jumped out at me, too.

Extremely strong mintmark punch coupled with the oversized D mintmark used in the mid-late 80s.
