Good evening all. I am hoping I can get some opinions on the grade of this 1882 O Morgan. It has been at my local coin shop for about a month now. At first I thought he was to high on his asking price so I passed on it. I didn't go there for a few weeks and then last Staurday I went up and it was still there. I tried to haggle with him a little but be wouldn't budge (never has on anything I have bought there) but I needed a coin fix so I bought it. After I got it home I think he may have undergraded it. I will let you know what I paid after I get a few opinions, so what do you all think....

That looks like a semi-proof like or proof like Morgan. I can't tell too well from the photos, but I don't see too many 'O' mint Morgans with that level of mirror.

From the photos I'd say the Reverse is a bit nicer, but I'd give the coin an overall '63PL (IMHO), but I could be wrong on the PL. Gotta see it in hand. Nice coin though, regardless of grade.

My best guess would be semi-PL64/5.

Hope for the 65.
Rest in Peace

Thanks, I paid $65.00 for it. The first time I saw it I asked the dealer what grade he thought it was and he took a look and said MS-60. 3 weeks later he said MS-62/63 possibly a cameo if I wanted to dip it. Told him I would just take it as is.

It's a really nice example, I think you did very well on that one...
