Here is a new one that I picked up recently. Initially it was purchased for the trigger(clashed G) imprint on the neck. Once I got it home and looked further I noticed the small Cud on the obverse and clashing remnants in the reverse motto. I have another without these two distinct variables. Enjoy! nlp

This has gone too long without comment.

The Cud indicates a pretty terminal die state. Have you noted the polishing marks indicated at VAMworld?

No polishing mark like the one shown at vamworld. Also, the coin picture looks PL and I would suppose the polishing marks disappeared through use or subsequent reworking. The texture is slightly granular from die usage yet it still has a decent cartwheel effect. I had not seen one of these with the Cud and thought I would share. nlp

The "trigger" is obvious, yet a bit less-pronounced than other examples of the variety. Even though it's known in DMPL, both pre- and post-polishing, I cannot imagine that reflectivity remaining for too many strikes. In the grand scheme of things, I'd kind of expect that your coin wouldn't show luster as nicely as it does - it sure looks like it ain't far from PL - so it makes me wonder about the lifespan of the die.

I can't help it, man. I gotta wonder about the whole life of the die. It's how I'm wired.

You know what. This coin is a Vam-2A not a 28A. Same obv with slightly different rev. I just looked at my other and it is also the Vam-2A without the Cud. However the one not pictured here has the hair vee on the rev and polishing lines going one direction in the bow. The one pictured above has polishing lines in the bow going an entirely different direction and much heavier. Another noticable difference is the motto on the coin not pictured is clear of any counter clashing unlike the one above. weird!

Yeah, that rim Cud is a drop dead give-away for the V2A. The V2A will also have not clash marks on the reverse, the V28A and V32 will.
