Trying to decide what to do with this coin. It was gifted to me recently and I'm unsure what the value or rarity is. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,

Thanks EgC/Purple Penny

I looked all over the Internet for info on this piece and came up with zero info. Before coming here that is!

Theoretically,if either of you were selling one of these coins what would you expect to gain? (USD$)

Or would you be able to point me in the direction of similar items for sale?

Australian Participation in Montreal Medal, 1976. Silver, 38mm,
by Stokes. Ancient Greek and Montreal torch runner, temple of Zeus
in Olympia and Montreal building in back.
not many sites list medals/tokens, usually sold in job lots at auction. You'd be lucky to get $5-10 .

I think your medal is the gold version. I guess you'd get bullion for it off anyone trading gold. (I don't now the weight to work it out).

Once you've weighed it you can go here to work it out based on the 22ct purity.
