What would you grade this merc? Also should I give her an acetone bath?

An acetone bath would not hurt, also may not accomplish anything.
She's a dirty EF45

you could argue a case for an au grade-I just think the coloration takes a little away from that. A net xf-45 grade is probably fair-it cetainly doesn't appear to be ms.

Looks to be a close XF/AU. Really hard to tell with the color.

Though I would lean more towards XF cause I'm pretty conservative about grading.

I'll give her a bath tonight. How long should I let her soak?

Honestly I have little experience with soaking coins in acetone.
One buffalo that had gunk on it that cleaned up quickly and turned out quite nice and
One Peace dollar that I soaked for a short time and nothing happened so I left it overnight and nothing happened;
well it was a little better but the finger print was unaffected, which was my target blemish.
So you let us know how it goes with this type of "damage."
