Any info on this token? I know the Swastika used to be good luck before WWII so I assume this is pre-WWII. There are buildings near me that have the design in marble floors.

I have one of these, I know very little about it though beyond what it says on the token. I actually think the reverse of mine is different. I'll have to dig it out and see.

now technically, that is the reverse of a swastika, which was sometimes used as a Native American symbol, a good luck sign, or a relifious symbol.

The company listed appears to have a Jewish name? Very unusual item.
I found this link that has some history of these tokens. Mine is not listed:

I've about a dozen. Excellent link above. Hundreds of designs were used for various clubs, merchants, even ballparks.
Most are from the '30's.

Some of these pre-date WWI. One of the more commonly seen swastika tokens shows a boy scout on horseback, and it's dated 1910. It advertised Excelsior Shoes as I recall.

Generally, higher grade swastika tokens can fetch $20 or more. I'd venture that the lower grade subject token has a base worth of $10 or so. A collector seeking tokens from his home area would probably value it higher. Also, the subject matter or occupation, could enhance the token's value in the eyes of some. Many collectors erringly shun this series, given a historical "disconnect" with the swastika symbol. I believe I once read that this symbol was originally used by the Egyptians to illustrate the power of the sun.

I seem to recall that there was a book published on these within the past ten years or so. If so, I doubt that it would be near an all-inclusive work. This series is a relative exonumia frontier that has yet to gain serious attention.

Heh, I wonder how much time has to pass before a swastika loses its negative connotations made by the WWII...

There was a business Rosenthal & Grotta, 573 Boradway NY NY listed in the 1914 business driectory for NYC. Same name as the one on the token. The building is still there also.
