Hello all, I'd like to know if anyone can help me with this. It's an item I've had for the past few years, I carry it with me, for luck I guess, and I have no clue what it could possibly be. I know for sure it's copper, but the symbols are strange. One side has the grim reaper, and the other has a bird, a pyramid and a cross all arranged in a triangle. I can only guess as to what these mean, however, can anyone shed some light on this? Much appreciated!
Seems what you have there is a good luck medal. The grim reaper you mentioned looks to be the "Santa Muerte". This site will explain more, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santa_Muerte. Since I live in SA TX, I see this as a more common symbol now. With the large influx of illegals and Mexican nationals, and also with many frayed nerves due to the drug cartels south of us, this symbol is used as way to have safe passage or luck, especially in commercial endeavors.
That symbol is become more and more prevelant in Mexico with the current influences.
The other symbols represent: pyramid-power the cross-faith in christ the bird is a dove-peace.
Oh thank you! Finally I know what this thing is, it's made a dent in my wallet from all the years I've carried it, good to know what it is, thanks a lot!
