WOWSERS Second lowest mintage of a rare series! Looks like a very nice strike and I assume that the reverse fuzziness is from a slab. I would say MS63+

I cannot quite bring myself to call that a Mint State coin. It's as close as you can get, but AU in my opinion. You'd have to offer me an MS64 at least to get it from me, though.

Are these all in your personal collection, TypeMaster? You've shown some very astute acquisitions, if so.

I likes it, that is one coin I am agressivle looking for right now for my dansco album and just haven't found one that I really like good enough to pay the kind of money these things are bringing right now. if I am going to pay that kind of money I am definately gonna get one I really like, with all that being said I would say that one is about a MS-61 and I think the slab may be whats causing the rub look of the coin in places

The stars are all well defined. The strike is excellent. Not sure where all the darkness is coming from, toning I think. I would give it at least MS-62.

Astute no.... Aquired yes.

My best coins Never leave the safe unless I want to talk to myself about them. (As in trying to justify why in the heck I spent that much $$$ on them)! There are times when I have a little to much Congac with cigars (Chateaus) and have to drag them out for a review.

I am very fortunate to have some of the coins I have. Many of them reach back for generations in my family. I do love them though.

I won't say which are mine and which I want to attain. I just very much enjoy the challenge / art of grading. I also consider myself a student of yours. I know alot, but have so much more to learn.

I agree. This is not a fair post. The photos don't allow the viewer to see the mirror behind it.

This is a proof? Time to refine my notions of strike quality with 20 Cent pieces. Perhaps it's the pic, but the obverse simply looks mushy. I still believe it managed to circulate, if briefly.

The problem with the pic is it is a scan instead of a photograph.

Proof 63 NGC. I don't have a photo of the cert. I cut it off of the original I posted and am not motivated to retake the shot.

Hmm. Excellent learning experience for me here. I can see where the color in the fields would tend to indicate it's a Proof - that mottled pattern is seen on other Proof types - but I have to believe that's not the Mint's best-ever engraving job.

Well, I had the 63 part right at least
I had a little doubt in my mind whether it was MS or PR but I went with MS instead. You are a sneaky one TypeMaster

Sorry to be so sneaky. I will try not to post any more proofs as it really isn't fair due to the fact that the photographs never reveal the mirrors.
