Totally new to coins and grades. These are for a friend that has asked me to search info as well as figure out what is worth more than melt. Unfortunatly localy regardless of condition most are only offering melt which I find to be at times a rip off as there has to be numistimatic value in some of these be it condition or rarity. If I do list these I'd much rather error on the low end than have an upset buyer. Any and all opinions greatly appreciated.

First is definitely VF - the second I think could make XF. But if you list them on ebay, just ask the buyer to grade for themself based on the photos you're providing (which seem to be very well taken).

First looks EF-40, second looks EF-45. I would expect more wear on VF-35 coins.

Your coins are in the XF range. Melt price is about $25...Dealers would give about $20-$23 and this isn't a rip off, just business. Sell on Craigs list or ebay you probably could get $30....Good Luck!

Apparently the friend I was gathering the info for has a buyer for all the morgans and Peace dollars he has at $45 each. I told him to sell and quit worrying about anything special . Now that I've looked around a bit I think I will maybe start picking up the odd coin here and there myself. Stamps and coins just seem to go hand in hand.

Both common dates. The '87 is XF45ish and looks problem free. the '96 has AU details but to my eye was cleaned at some point. Doesn't matter. On ebay, both would bring mid' 30's. After fees and stuff you would be better taking $25 each cash and walk away IMO.
