Hi new to this forum. Need some advice, if you have a uncirc. set of coins do you remove them from the plastic and put them in albums or leave them alone. these sets are not valuable just would like to put them in my albums .

Nice to have you join us! I don't collect Uncirculated sets (A.K.A.>prooflike sets/N.B.U. sets) however, when I first started collecting Canadian coins I did have the full gambit of the R.C.M. sets mentioned here.
I left all my sets intact (pliofilm untouched) and kept them in a special album specifically made for them. Each plastic sheet in the album had two open sleeves to house each set. (2/sheet)
But at the end, it's all up to each individual collectors taste. If you remove them from the set (casing), they risk damage and potential discolouration (toning) over time, however, I have always found when collecting R.C.M. coinage, "keeping an item in it's most original state at the time of production" was how I enjoyed collecting 'em!

Indeed, it is.

I have removed the coins from the few sets that I needed to have.

I collect coins, not cardboard, plastic, or pliofilm

Agreed Redlock. Some I've broken out and then I've saved others for my heirs as a UNC Mint Set collection.

Honestly, as an old fried once said, "whatever floats your boat". Just make sure you store them properly.

Oh, I forgot: enjoy the Forum.

I've personally destroyed many, many mint sets..and enjoyed doing so.
I might want something like the 1978 RJ 50c but nothing else from the set, so
out come the scissors. At the prices most of these sets go for, you don't have
to feel too guilty.
