If you are buying in the 500 plus oz range you might want to consider Tulving

Quote: If you are buying in the 500 plus oz range you might want to consider Tulving I would consider them but they require a 50 10-oz. bar minimum order. While I definitely plan to buy 500 oz., I do not plan to buy it all at once. I will space the orders out over a few months time. Thanks for the suggestion, though. They do seem to have some pretty nice prices.

And here they are! I like them a lot, much better then buying a 10 oz bar and easier to sell if need be. But I think this will be it for a little while. I try to buy a 1/10 oz gold eagle every month or so, and I have 6 so far, working on a full tube! But enjoy! Sorry the pictures are a little crappy. But my biggest and only real concern is that they say one ounce, and not one troy ounce, but meh

Very nice bars you have there, ICanCU. I agree that it would have been better to have the words "Troy Ounce" on them instead of just "Ounce". The SilverTowne 10 oz. bars do say "10 Troy Ounces" and ".999 fine silver" on them. They also have a unique serial number on them that could be helpful in identifying them.

They don't say troy oz for the same reason a pound of butter or T-bone doesn't say avoirdupois oz. That's the kind ounces used for that item, and anyone dealing in that item should not need that explained.

don't worry about the "troy" part, a better deal if they end up being avoirdupois ounce anyways :)

Quote: don't worry about the "troy" part, a better deal if they end up being avoirdupois ounce anyways :) I think that's backwards. Considering that a Troy Ounce is 31.1 grams and an Av Ounce is 28.35 grams, one Troy ounce purchased at $30 would be 96.4 cents per gram. An Av ounce for $30 would run you $1.05 a gram, and you'd have ~3 grams less silver. Steve
