A while back I made a post about getting this coin at a flea market. After I uploaded the pics, I noticed that the 1 in the date looked doubled. This has made me curious over time, and I would like to know a little bit more about it. For now it resides in my 7070 2-cent slot

The date pics are at 30x.
(Sorry for the bad pics, still figuring out lighting.)

Thanks

It looks like a repunched date listed in the Cherrypicker's Guide, FS-02-1865-1301.

Nice! I especially like the skewed angle on the 1/1

Its the second most common rpd FOR 1865 that being said its not that common, I only have a couple of examples. It does command a premium but not that significant
Here is one of mine...

In MS condition you could expect to pay around 25% more for the coin than a regular one.

Cherrypicker's shows VF-20 at $50 and EF-40 at $75. Nice RPD!
ANA ID: 3203813 - CONECA ID: N-5637 Clean a coin that may be worth collecting? Please DON'T! When in doubt, leave it dirty!!
