I completely agree. In hand the coin looks a lot better but once you get it in a picture its done for.

What would your suggestions be on ebay feedback. I'm not going to return the coin. I'm just going to consider this one a loss.

Could it because of a "soft strike"? Otherwise I would say XF-45. Still a nice IHC!

Detail is XF-45. He's a bit banged up and color is questionable so net grade of VF-35 or EF-40 is reasonable.

Regardless, nice Indian not nearly as ugly as most I have seen.

The photos you provided and the seller's make a world of difference. Detail wise, it is a XF-40. I disagree about the 'dings' however. They are small pits as 95% copper is easily damaged, a reputable IHC dealer would list such a coin as "XF detail, light corrosion" and discount it heavily maybe to G-VG pricing. It is not worth $12.00, IMO and if the return period is still valid, I'd return it.

I would call that coin damaged (pitting) and list it for $4, and it probably wouldn't sell. Return it if you can.

I might contact the seller and see if I can work something out but I'm not sure if I will return it or not.
Rest in Peace

I need to invest in a microscope.

A microscope? Or just better magnification? One of the best loupes I ever bought cost seven bucks.

I recently paid $10 delivered for five magnifiers on ebay:

A great assortment for starting out, one of them should work for you. They have multiple ads, don't pay more than the minimum.

If you're serious about the microscope, get a stereo. Not cheap, but full 3d.

My loupe has a built in light. it comes in helpful at shows when the lighting sucks or something is hogging the light.
